New Characters: Kurt gets a boyfriend. An “everyday guy.” He’s going to be struggling with his sexuality and Kurt is going to help him through this. Ryan wants them to be prom king and prom king. This plot line is apparently delayed past the first few episodes.* A Christian country singer (a la Carrie Underwood) is supposed to come on. No word on how big this role is going to be. She’s also supposed to have a pretty big problem with Kurt and his boyfriend being gay. Sam Elliot will be played by Chord Overstreet. Sam is a football player. Finn will take Sam under his wing, and will ultimately become Finn’s rival. He will also have a special relationship with Quinn. Mercedes gets a love interest, too. A “male version of herself”. Charice will be guest starring as a foreign exchange student and a rival to Rachel. Her character will start out very small, but as the season progresses she will get bigger. Charice starts filiming on July 28th with the rest of the cast, so I’m assuming she’ll be in the first episode. Dot Jones will be playing Shannon Beiste (pronounced BEEST) the new football coach, replacing Ken Tanaka, who will no longer be on Glee. Cheyenne Jackson will be replacing Idina Menzel’s role as the newcoach of Vocal Adrenaline. This will be a major, recurring role. John Stamos will have a recurring role as Emma’s dentist boyfriend. Javier Bardem will appear as a rock star who befriends Artie. “We’re going to rock the house,” the 41-year-old Gleek tells EW. “We’re going to do some heavy metal — Spanish heavy metal, which is the worst.” Wouldn’t call these new characters, but ones we haven’t seen yet. We’re going to get to see Rachel’s gay dads, Artie’s mother, and some of Mercedes’ home life, so maybe her parents, as well. Ryan teases that Brittany has a smart older sister. Carol Burnett will be playing Sue’s mother. 1 episode. Paul McCartney will guest star.
*They’re saying that Sam Elliot is NOT Kurt’s boyfriend. The theory? They’re pulling back on all the hype so Sam can have a surprise “coming out” moment. The same way Idina being Rachel’s mother was a surprise.
Tribute Episodes: A Britney Spears episode, titled “Britney, Brittany” will be the 2nd episode of the new season. Brittany will sing 2 songs. The episode will feature six Britney Spears songs and be done in a “fun, hallucinogenic way.” Mr. Schue will complain the whole episode about not wanting to do Britney Spears songs (based on Matthew Morrison’s “dislike” for the idea of a Britney episode.) Newest information from Ryan Seacrest tells us that Britney Spears WILL in fact be making an appearance. A second Madonna episode will happen. There will be a Rocky Horror Picture Show episode, and it will be the 5th episode of Season 2, we also know that Sue will not be happy with the glee kids doing this. There will be a special Christmas episode. They’re working on getting Susan Boyle for this episode. There will only be 2 artist tribute episodes this season, but they are not holding back in terms of budget. The Superbowl episode will definitely be a tribute episode. Kristin Dos Santos rumors it to be a tribute to Bruce Springsteen.
Relationship News: Finn and Rachel will stay together for Season 2. The truth about Finn and Santana will surface and create turbulence for Finn and Rachel’s relationship. Puck and Quinn will not be together, but they will have “sweet” moments. There will be another Artie/Tina centered episode. Tina will “fall out of love” with Artie and start to fall for Mike Chang. Jenna’s always said that Artie and Tina will always be together, so no word on how long this is gonna last. The season will start with Tina dating Mike, “because Artie was a bad boyfriend and only wanted to watch Coming Home, so Tina’s had it.” Ryan Murphy says “Tina wants a man who pays attention to her needs. And it’s a very, very sweet story about a boy who realizes, ‘Oh, maybe that’s the love of my life and I could have done better.’ And feels sick about it.” (So I’m thinking we’re gonna see Mike be an amazing boyfriend, and Artie will be learning alot and fighting to get Tina back. Since the first half of the first episode back is what they did over their summer vacation, I’m thinking we’re going to see a heart-wrenching Artie/Tina breakup.) Emma is dating her dentist Carl (John Stamos) and Will will be pining for her once again. Brittany and Santana will kiss. This episode will be early on in the season. This was confirmed at the Television Critic’s Association awards. “We’re filming that episode on Monday,” he told AfterEllen.com. He said there will definitely be a kiss. “Maybe more.” Ryan says Puck will still be on Rachel’s case during her relationship with Finn, and he wants to know “how Rachel will resist.” So it looks like he hasn’t forgotten about Puckleberry! There will also be a duet between them.
Song Spoilers: “Losing My Religion” by REM and “Papa Can You Hear Me” will be covered in an upcoming episode about religion. “Papa Can You Hear Me” will be covered by Lea Michele, and Amber will be doing a “great gospel number.” Songs will be cut back to average 5 an episode instead of 8 like the back 9. One episode has 4 songs. Ryan wants to “focus more on the characters” so season 2 is more “intimate.” Ryan wants Artie to sing Guys And Dolls (Luck Be A Lady?) and revisit the Golden Age of Broadway. There will be an Original Song episode in the second half of the season where the kids will be asked to write their own songs.
The Britney Episode: “Stronger” will be covered by Heather Morris. Heather says “Slave 4 U” is her favorite video. And since this ep will be done in a hallucinogenic way, maybe we’ll see it! Lea Michele will be tackling “a classic Britney song,” as well as recreating a Britney video. Lea also told us that the boys do something similar to “What It Feels Like For A Girl” from the Madonna episode, but it’s not “I’m Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman.” Mr. Schue will complain the whole episode about not wanting to do Britney Spears songs (based on Matthew Morrison’s “dislike” for the idea of a Britney episode.) Matthew Morrison will shave his head, to recreate Britney shaving her head. At the end of the Britney episode, Finn and Rachel will sing a song by a “newer band” and a song she calls “one of her favorites of all time” and it will be a love song.
Rumored song list for Season 2, Episode 1 “Audition”: Tubthumbing by Chumbawamba, performed by New Directions Goodbye My Lover by James Blunt, performed by Puck Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen, performed by New Directions Open Your Eyes To Love by LMNT, performed by Rachel and Finn Come Back To Me by David Cook, performed by Will
Confirmed Season 2 Songs: “Empire State Of Mind” by Alicia Keys & Jay Z (Artie & Mercedes with New Directions) “Billionaire” by Travie McCoy “Every Rose Has It’s Thorn” by Poison “Losing My Religion” by REM “Papa Can You Hear Me” by Barbra Streisand (Rachel) “Time Warp” from The Rocky Horror Picture Show “Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears (Rachel will be remaking the video) “Stronger” by Britney Spears “Piece Of Me” by Britney Spears “Oops I Did It Again” by Britney Spears “Toxic” by Britney Spears “I’m A Slave 4 U” by Britney Spears (Harry Shum, Jr. says “possibly” for this one) “Faith” by George Michael
Recurring Characters: We will see more from Mike Chang, Tina, Brittany, and Santana. Mike O’Malley (Kurt’s dad) is now a series regular, so we’ll see more of him. We get to see Puck deal with some issues, which Santana helps him with. Artie and Puck will have to reaudition for Glee, but only 1 will make it. They will revisit the Kurt/Finn thing and address their living situation. We get to see Mercedes’ home life, and she brings Kurt to church with her. The Quinn/Mercedes friendship will last. Quinn will be back to her bitchy roots when the season starts, “she misses her ponytail and cheerleading uniform” but Mercedes keeps her in check. Santana’s role in season 2 is “heavy” and “mean.” Santana and Quinn will both remain very mean for Season 2, almost “competing” for the head bitch. Ah, just like old times. Sue will not be soft like many were thinking, she’ll be back to her mean roots. The Finn/Santana/Rachel/Jesse sex lies will be addressed in an episode. April Rhodes, Shelby Corcoran, and Jesse St. James will return. “He has to come back and give Rachel a pep talk,” so things will be reconciled between Jesse and Rachel. The producers are hoping to get Neil Patrick Harris back for Season 2. Ryan teased a Bryan/Terri hookup where he said “We had Jessalyn earmarked for someone else, but…” So it looks like Terri is gonna get some action! We’re going to get to see Rachel’s gay dads, Artie’s mother, and some of Mercedes’ home life, so maybe her parents, as well. Ryan teases that Brittany has a smart older sister. Justin Timberlake will NOT guest star. But if he ever does, he’ll play Will’s younger brother. Looks like the Finn/Puck friendship will be back. Cory hinted that the two will join forces and team up against Finn’s new rival, Sam. Sarah Drew will reprise her role as Suzy Pepper. Pepper will be back to offer some “sage advice”
General Show Info: Sue Sylvester will write her memoir (no news on whether or not it will be called “I’m a Winner and You’re Fat,” but I hope to GOD it is!), and Jane Lynch will go on Borders book signing as her character. Three new writers will be added to the team by January. The Season 2 premiere episode, titled “Auditions,” will air on September 21st. On the episode title: “The idea is that even if you’re not in high school, everything in your daily life is an audition,” says Ryan Murphy. (2×01 “Audition”; 2×02 “Britney/Brittany”; 2×03 “Faith”) The season finale will be Nationals in New York, so we know if they show Sectionals or Regionals that they win. The first half of the Season 2 premiere will be looking at what the kids did over their summer vacation. They will start the season bigger losers than they ever were, coming off their loss at Regionals.
Судя по снимкам, обыгрывается видео “Me against the music”, где Бритни играет Мадонну (Madonna), а саму Бритни играет героиня сериала Британни (Brittany).
Heather Morris has revealed details of the storyline in the upcoming Britney Spears episode of Glee. Morris, who plays Brittany, told E! Online that the tribute will see New Directions clash with Mr Schuester (Matthew Morrison).
"We want to do [Britney] for a [glee club] performance and Will Schuester doesn't allow it," she explained. "He doesn't agree with us. My character's arc [in the episode], in a way, is Britney Spears!"
She added: "You figure out my character's last name!"
Morris also revealed that she loved working with Spears, who filmed a cameo for the episode. "She did such a good job," she said. "She was very, very quiet and very sweet. She was awesome."

Glee Scoop: Britney "Lockdown," a Romance Update and...John Stamos Is Getting His Own Show!
Kristin Dos Santos with E! had a nice little chat with Ryan Murphy at the Creative Arts Emmys on Saturday afternoon. She finally got some scoop on the two hottest couples on the show – Finchel and Wemma! Hooray! Sorry to Wemma fans…it is not good news. *** Get ready to Gleek your pants.
I just chatted up Glee boss Ryan Murphy and the best hair-hater of all time, Jane Lynch, at the Creative Arts Emmys and you won’t believe what they told me: 1. Get Ready for The John Stamos Show! Ryan Murphy not only confirmed that he is developing a show for Glee's Emmy-nominated guest star Kristin Chenoweth (let the angels sing!), but he revealed to me exclusively that he is currently working on creating a new show for upcoming guest star John Stamos, too! (All the Uncle Jesse fans in the house say boo-ya!) Ryan says both of them will "probably" sing in their new series because, hello, they can. Sounds like Murphy is setting out to create a whole new musical-comedy TV empire, and I like it.
2. Britney Scoop! Having Britney on set was like "having the President," according to Murphy, who reveals he couldn't even get on his own set at one point when Ms. Spears on shooting her guest spot! Security was so tight with wristbands, etc. that even the cast and producers had to face interrogation. Jane Lynch says she was at Disneyland that day because they "probably wouldn't have let me on anyway."
3. "Finnchel" and "Wemma" scoop! Ryan gave some giddy-good news on Finn and Rachel for the coming season, and some not-so-giddy news on Will and Emma. Check it out in this exclusive video of my interview with Ryan, in which we talk Britney, John Stamos, Kristin Chenoweth, the Super Bowl Episode and yes, the deliciousness that is Finnchel and Wemma... Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player.
4. Jon Hamm Looooves Jane Lynch! One more reason to totally adore the living daylights out of Lynch (and envy her even more): She got mauled by Hamm on the red carpet! OK, so this might not be a completely accurate description, but when one of the hottest TV stars of all time interrupts the middle of an interview to bear hug one of the funniest TV stars of all time, well, let's just say you have to see it for yourself. And lucky for you I have the video below. Jane also talks about what's coming up for Sue Sylvester, her SNL gig and more...
E!’s Spoiler Chat: ‘Glee’
Elle in Michigan: OK, forget about the Britney episode of Glee, what can you tell me about the Brittany episode of Glee? We love Heather Morris (Brittany) too! Ran into exec producer Dante Di Loreto at an Emmys event for nominated producers and he spilled about the upcoming “Britney/Brittany” bonanza, “Heather Morris can really sing. We know she can dance, but to see her dance and hear her sing all at once is really fantastic. She knocks it out of the park. And we learn a lot of new things about Brittany in the episode—we might be surprised to hear what Brittany thinks about Britney Spears.” Dante also revealed that “We’re all working hard to make more Glee for you: Football players were dancing until about three o’clock in the morning on Friday.” Mmmm…were they dancing to Brit’s “Stronger,” being football players and all? “Ryan [Murphy] would kill me if I told you. But I would say…you’re smart.” Yay! That gingo bilboa is paying off. Or wait…How is it spelled? (Joaking!)
Frederick in Des Moines: Will Britney be back on Glee or it’s just a one-time thing? They’re already talking about bringing her back. How very HIMYM of you! Hey, maybe Brit can bring that Barney guy with her.
Alex in Venice, Italy: Is Jonathan Groff ever coming back to Glee? Yep! Exec producer Dante DiLoreto (whom you can follow @GleeTV on Twitter, BTW) tells us, “Yes, absolutely, without a doubt Jonathan will be back. He’s in London right now. We’re hoping he’ll finish that pesky play and come back and work with us.” Hurry up, dude! Rachel Berry has a raw egg with your name on it!
Is Kurt Getting His Boyfriend?
It sure sounds like it… *** It looks like Kurt will finally get his star quarterback on Glee.
No, we’re not talking a romance with Finn, but…
Rumors that new cast member Chord Overstreet will play Chris Colfer‘s on-screen boyfriend appear to be true.
“They’ve cast him already,” Jane Lynch told us last night at the Audi and Chopard Emmy party when we asked about Kurt’s much-anticpiated love interest. “He becomes the new star quarterback and he’s going to be Kurt’s boyfriend.”
While Lynch said she couldn’t remember the name of the actor who is playing Kurt’s beau, she described the lucky guy as “a good looking kid.”
“He’s tall, boyish with straight blonde hair and big fat, pouty lips,” she said.
Sounds like Overstreet to us.
Overstreet, who has appeared on iCarly, recently joined Glee as Sam Evans, a footballing transfer student who first befriends Finn, but eventually becomes his nemesis.
Show poobah Ryan Murphy remains tight-lipped about the upcoming romance. “We’re working on it,” he teased us at the Creative Arts Emmys.
Murphy did say that Rachel and Finn will be very much together next season. As for skirt-chasing Puck, he said, “He’s struggling. He’s torn about who to have sex with next.”
(The Rocky Horror Picture Show) .
Он поет «Time Warp».
In its first season, Glee featured some weirdly eclectic song choices: Remember “Thong Song” and “Sweet Caroline” in the “Mash-Up” episode? But in the season-two premiere on September 21st, the show will outdo itself. Rolling Stone has learned that the first episode will feature renditions of Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind,” Lady Gaga’s “Telephone,” Travie McCoy’s “Billionaire,” and Poison’s “Every Rose Has Its Thorn.” In true Gleek fashion, the cast will also perform two vintage Broadway musical standards — “What I Did for Love” from A Chorus Line and “Getting to Know You” from The King and I — as well as “Listen” from the film version of Dreamgirls.
According to the series’ music supervisor, P.J. Bloom, the episode’s plot paved the way for the Jay-Z track: Having placed at the Regional competition in last season’s finale, New Directions will travel to New York for the Nationals. “So we needed a New York song,” explains Bloom. He also says that the use of a second Gaga song — after “Bad Romance” in the previous season — is all due to co-creator Ryan Murphy. “Ryan’s a huge Lady Gaga fan,” Bloom says. “I suspect we’re going to continue to look to her to be part of the show.”
The following week will see the premiere of the show’s all-Britney Spears episode, which will include performances of five Spears songs — although for now, no one’s saying which ones. Bloom is also promising an “additional recording” for the episode, but is mum on details. (We’re already picturing Spears and Matthew Morrison doing a Britney-and-Justin-style duet, but maybe that’s just us.) In other Glee music news: Another soundtrack album could arrive as early as October, and Morrison is wrapping up his solo debut, due on Mercury Records early in 2011.
What you’ll see:
* Jacob Ben Israel (Josh Sussman) gets a good chunk of screen time, and he’s hilarious. * More contemporary hits: We already know that we’ll see Jay-Z‘s “Empire State of Mind,” but we also get Lady Gaga‘s “Telephone” and Travie McCoy‘s “Billionaire” courtesy of newbie Chord Overstreet. You can get more sneak peeks with this promo. * Will (Matthew Morrison) and Sue (Jane Lynch) teaming up and giggling together. * For her audition, Sunshine (Charice) sings a killer version of “Listen” from the “Dreamgirls” film adaptation. * A catfight in the hallway
* The promised Asian hookup between Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) and Mike (Harry Shum, Jr.), with an explanation about how poor Artie (Kevin McHale) lost Tina. * A Gleek tries out for the Cheerios, but we’re not saying who. * Self-awareness – Lots of references to things we think about, but don’t usually mention, such as Kurt’s (Chris Colfer) fashion sense and Mike Chang’s marginal dance-only status. * One Gleek gets surgery over the summer holidays. * Finn (Cory Monteith) has some interesting chemistry with new guy Sam (Chord Overstreet)
What you won’t see:
* Emma (Jayma Mays) and Terri (Jessalyn Gilsig) – They’re still part of the show, but not till Episode 2. * Coach Ken Tanaka (Patrick Gallagher) – His character had a nervous breakdown and is replaced by Coach Beiste (Dot Jones). Never fear, he’s landed on his feet elsewhere. * Matt Rutherford (Dijon Talton) – Mr. Schue announces that Matt has transferred. No other explanation about his disappearance from show choir. * Puck’s (Mark Salling) mohawk. Yes, as we saw at the end of Season 1, it’s well and truly gone.
----------------- I was at the screening and premiere party last night in Los Angeles and the first episode of the second season is the best EVER. Seriously…here’s why:
* Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) has competition — both literally and figuratively! Actress Dot Jones joins the cast as the new female football coach, Beaste, and gives Sue a run for her money both at the high school and in the comedy realm.
* The person who you’d least expect to see be a cheerleader tries out for the Cheerios…and it’s NOT Puck (Mark Salling). Even Sue’s little sister, Becky, can’t help but crack up.
* Charice — the girl who Oprah claims is the most talented in the world — is freaking AMAZING and puts Lea Michele to shame during her huge solo, “Listen,” from Dreamgirls.
* Justin Bieber has joined the cast! Well, okay…I lied. But his semi-lookalike has! Chord Overstreet — the new series regular — and his luscious blond locks and full lips might send you over the edge. Too bad his character doesn’t seem like he plays for my team…
* Forget guest stars! The premiere episode actually focuses on the true Gleeks, which is a welcome change. Watch out for Harry Shum Jr. (Mike Chang), his big new story line and his HOT abs. (Cory Monteith, who?) Plus, Heather Morris (Brittany) has the FUNNIEST one liners. I didn’t think they could get better, but they did.
* THE MUSIC ROCKS. Well, this is an obvious, but I loved seeing other characters besides Mr. Schuester (Matthew Morrison) rap. Opening with Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind” and Lady Gaga’s “Telephone” = sheer brilliance.
Shaft is out. New Directions will start the season one man down. Matt (Dijon Talton), aka Shaft, according to Coach Sue (Jane Lynch), has left McKinley. His smooth moves were sort of overshadowed by fellow football player-turned-glee clubber Mike Chang (Harry Shum). Did Matt even speak? We honestly don’t recall. But he was one of the starting 12, and because of that we will miss him. Then again, that means there are openings…
The new kids can sing. Pint-sized dynamo Sunshine Corazon (guest star Charice) will not only engage in a mini-sing-off with super-jealous Rachel (Lea Michele), she’ll take the stage solo for a diva-licious number from Dreamgirls. (Hint: It’s the one they added to the movie so Beyonce wouldn’t play second banana to Jennifer Hudson’s “And I Am Telling You.”) Meanwhile, reluctant, pouty-mouthed glee clubber Sam (Chord Overstreet) will jam with the boys to Travie McCoy’s aspirational-if-obnoxious acoustic tune “Billionaire.” As sung by Overstreet, however, it’s simple and lovely.
Someone got a boob job. But we can’t say who. Let’s just say her new pair will put her at the bottom of the pyramid.
Cory Monteith is slimming down for the Rocky Horror episode. Why? You may have heard Lea Michele give it away at the Emmys: Finn is going to be donning the infamous mankini. (Matthew Morrison too? Maybe.) Monteith, who plays Finn, says he’s been running laps and eating lots of chicken breast to prepare. “I just think if I’m going to be taking the shirt off and wearing the mankini, I owe it to our viewers. Really,” the actor says. But a strict regimen is not what he prefers. “If no one cared, I would not work out.”
Elsewhere in the episode, Emma (Jayma Mays) will be singing the risqué “Touch-A Touch-A Touch Me,” says co-executive producer Ian Brennan. Does this mean Mr. Schu (Matthew Morrison) will get lucky? Or her new dentist beau Dr. Carl Howell (John Stamos)? Both will appear in the episode, set to air on Halloween. Fun fact: Mays actually sang the song for her Glee audition — so she knows it pretty well.
Tina likes abs. Hold the “Poor Artie.” It turns out that Artie (Kevin McHale) wasn’t the best boyfriend over the summer. Something about a Halo marathon taking up his time? Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) couldn’t help but stray to the well-defined, six-pack abs of Mike while the two attended Asian Camp together. Yeah, it’s like band camp, only for Asians.
Terri will get a new man. Terri (Jessalyn Gilsig) isn’t in the first episode — and neither is Emma, in case you’re wondering — but Gilsig says Mr. Schu’s ex is waiting in the wings. And she’s not alone. “I’m going to start a relationship with somebody, and it’s going to, by its nature, put me around Will,” she says. Before you start flashing back to the weirdness between Finn and Terri last season, the actress assures us that Terri won’t be dating a student. A teacher perhaps? Someone of “authority,” she says.
Did we mention the premiere’s catfight? Slapping, smack-talking, slamming into lockers — it’s the real deal. Not everyone is happy that Quinn is back on top of the Cheerios.
Finn will have a crisis of faith. At least, that’s what we’re assuming. Monteith says Finn will have lots to do in Glee’s third episode, which is all about religion. We’ve already heard that Mercedes (Amber Riley) will be bringing Kurt (Chris Colfer) to church with her, and now we also know that Finn will be singing REM’s “Losing My Religion.” Monteith adds only that Finn has plenty on his mind at that moment.
Rachel gets another aggressive suitor. For a spotlight—hogging choir girl, Rachel sure does attract a lot of boys. Last year she made out with Puck (Mark Salling), dated Jesse St. James (Jonathan Groff), and still wound up with Finn. Who’s next? Josh Sussman, who plays McKinley’s roving gossip blogger Jacob, says he’ll be getting a shot — sort of. “My character is hornier than ever,” Sussman says. “[I'm going] after Rachel Berry. In Season 1, I wanted to see her bra, then I got Rachel Berry panties. Now I want more, and I go for it.”
Brittany will have a boyfriend. Or a girlfriend. Heather Morris, who plays the ditsy Cheerio, wouldn’t say either way. “I have a relationship with another glee club member. Whether it’s a boy or girl, I don’t know… I don’t kiss and tell.” Ah, but there is that kiss she’ll share with Santana (Naya Rivera), right? Maybe it will be more than a fleeting girl-on-girl moment?
"Glee" fans -- whether you like it or not -- Terri's back and ready to cause more trouble in Season 2.
"I'm not coming back quietly. I'm coming back pretty loud, which was fun to shoot," Jessalyn Gilsig tells Zap2it on Tuesday (Sept. 7) before heading off to the "Glee" Season 2 premiere screening in Los Angeles. "She's going to get her own life, but it's going to be connected to the glee club, which means Will [Matthew Morrison] will always be in her sights."
Terri returns in the second episode back and in an early FOX promo, we see her confront Will and Emma (Jayma Mays), who've just pulled up in a yellow convertible.
"It's so fun have Emma be witness to all of our drama, paralyzed by the venom that comes out of both of us," says Gilsig.
In contrast to her Season 1 story arc in which she tried to hide her faked pregnancy, Terri won't be playing the avoidance game going into Season 2.
"She's still working at Sheets N Things, but she's also been collecting alimony," reveals Gilsig. "There's some great money conflicts between them about how they're each spending their money. You can kind of tell by that first outfit that maybe she haven't been fiscally responsible."
Will isn't completely free from splurging himself. How did the Spanish teacher afford that yellow sports car? Gilsig laughs and urges, "Why don't you ask him that? That's an excellent question."
We've heard that Terri will be trying to make Will jealous by dating someone he knows, but unfortunately, it's too early for the actress to know who exactly that lucky man will be.
"We haven't done it yet. I think I know who it is, but then they can change it on a dime," she admits. "I'm hoping that the storyline that's been floated out there, that she's really going to fall in love, will happen so you can see the Terri that Will first fell in love with
"Then she can drop that need to always be on the attack," observes Gilsig. "It's hard. You can only imagine when you see your ex-husband in a new a car with the woman he left you for, you're not going to show your best self."
Another hope she has for this season is to have Terri sing again and even has a song picked out for her:
"I've been listening to that Eminem-Rihanna song, 'I Love the Way You Lie' and thought, 'This is the perfect song for Will and Terri. It would be amazing.' Everything becomes the soundtrack of your life."
"Glee" returns for its second season on Tuesday, Sept. 21, and Terri makes her big entrance a week later on Sept. 28.
2 new spoilerish articles from Ausiello and EW (о Сэме, о Тэрри)
Question: Glee returns in two weeks! Got anything new? —Timothy
Ausiello: The show wastes no time showing off Chord Overstreet’s, um, impressive body of work. When we first meet his possibly gay football jock character, Sam, in the premiere, he’s in the shower singing “Every Rose Has It’s Thorn.” For his part, Chris Colfer believes that scene is proof positive that Sam will not turn out to be Kurt’s BF. “After seeing the episode, I feel like it’s not going to happen because all the girls are going to fall in love with him and they’re not going to want to see [him with Kurt],” he says. “And I don’t want to be the guy girls hate. I’m the gay guy the girls love. I don’t want to become the target. I don’t want the letters that say, ‘Kurt needs to get off our man. Stop kissing our boyfriend.’ Young girls can be vicious. I don’t want to know how Kristin Stewart feels. I don’t want to be the Bella of the Glee world. I like being the guy everyone likes.” Colfer adds that there’s no sign of romantic tension between Sam and Kurt in the first four episodes. “Maybe it is too obvious,” he theorizes. “Our writers have a way of avoiding the obvious and throwing curveballs.” BONUS GLEE SCOOP: Someone’s going to the slammer!
Question: I heard a rumor that Terri will date Principal Figgins on Glee this season. Please say it’s not true. Team Twill FTW! —Rion
Ausiello: According to Terri’s portrayer, Jesalyn Gilsig, it’s “definitely not” true. Gilsig does confirm that the former Mrs. Schuester will “get into a relationship of some kind that brings her around the glee club and the school, but I’m not at liberty to say who.” Guesses? Hit the comments! More fun games!

Ausiello: How about more on Glee’s emotional third episode? Cory Monteith will be in the spotlight, performing R.E.M.’s “Losing My Religion” as Finn finds—and loses—his faith in the course of the hour. “So cool,” Monteith says of his solo. “I’ve been a huge Michael Stipe fan all my life.” Apparently he’s a Joan Osborne fan as well: “We end the episode with ‘One of Us,’” he says. “I think it’s been a long time since the song was done properly. Noticed this at Gleeforums but not here...so tada! If I missed something here feel free to delete this...... ;)
A lot of people seemed to appreciate my full spoiler rundowns last year, so I figured I'd kick things off with a bang. A full look at "Audition" below. Note that while I've tried to black out the very juicy "spoilery" details and recap, this is the spoiler forum, so not everything will be hidden. Proceed with caution.
Thoughts: It's not a bad episode, but it's not the kind of episode that gives you confidence "Glee" is going to make up for the back nine and return to the quality of the first 13 season one episodes. Big problem I found is that the humor is far more mainstream innocuous than it was in season one. It's like they KNOW they're supposed to be funny, and so many of the jokes are just OBVIOUS and forced (example - the Cheerios sign-up sheet says "No fatties..." get it???).
That doesn't mean there aren't some great lines. Finn styles "super masculine" Glee Club recruitment signs just like the pamphlets he saw these "army guys passing out at the daycare center." Sue has a few golden lines, including a crack about the "Mexican Indians" selling New York for erotic photos of Betsy Ross. It's just that there's also a lot of obvious stuff that wouldn't have been clever enough to make season one's scripts. There's a catfight. There are cookies involving dog poop. There are way too many unnecessary Asian jokes. Not very "Glee" like stuff.
Lea Michele, to her credit, is phenomenal in the premiere. Her work here is great (both in terms of her acting and in terms of what Rachel does throughout the episode). She REALLY stepped up her game and is so good, in fact, that you can't even say beyond a shadow of a doubt that Jane Lynch is stealing the show anymore.
Ultimately, though, the quality kind of reminds me of the "Hell-O" return episode from last year. They're doing a lot of introductory work, so they're a bit light on dramatic storytelling. At the same time, the humor is bland and the musical numbers aren't anything particularly special. It's just a "blah" episode--not bad, but not must-see.
Music:
You get two great performances -- "Listen" by Sunshine (Charice) and "What I Did For Love" (Lea Michele). Neither ranks on an all-time list, but they're extremely strong vocal showings. Everything else is a mess.
"Telephone" and "Billionaire" are among the most painfully auto-tuned vocals I've EVER heard on Glee (and I don't even just mean a general essence of sounding like a computer--there are random, blatant uses of pitch correct on certain notes). I'm seriously hoping that FOX was serious when it told me the episode they sent me wasn't the "final cut" (even though they say that, it usually is), because this is some seriously awful auto-tune.
As for "Empire State of Mind"--Artie should *NOT* be rapping (he butchers "Billionaire" as well). He just doesn't have the vocal flow, and his mouth sounds jumbled the entire time. Everyone else is okay on Empire, but it's still a pretty subpar Glee performance.
Storyline spoilers:
Episode opens with a self-referential "video blog entry" being shot by Jacob Ben Israel. He's basically ripping on all the Glee club members, while simultaneously addressing some criticism about the show itself (primarily dealing with Mr. Schu) and introducing the different storylines. Things worth noting:
Finn and Rachel are dating. Rachel's still self-obsessed, and Finn's not above making sarcastic remarks about it. Puck is apparently suffering from a "crippling depression" over not having Quinn by his side. Quinn's happy to be back and trying to be upbeat. Santana got breast implants (honestly, I didn't even realize this at first, they're very subtle implants and it took a clarification later in the episode for me to understand why he was staring at her breasts; I just thought it was because she's hot) Tina broke up with Artie and is dating Mike (we later learn Tina and Mike got together, I kid you not, while serving as counselors at Asian camp) The kids in Glee are still being picked on
(We learn in passing, not in this particular video, that Matt transfered)
*The Figgins/Sue/Will/Beiste Story* Schuester's having a tough time dealing with the fact that no one wants to sign up for Glee, especially since his sign-up sheet says that there are no cuts. People, meanwhile, are lining up to get a chance to audition for the Cheerios.
In a meeting with Figgins, we learn that the budgets for both the New Directions and the Cheerios have been cut in favor of a reinvestment into the football team. Shannon Beiste, the very masculine new female football coach, has a winning track record in Missouri high school football and is thus going to try to lead McKinley to success. She's instantly identified as weird for making odd references in the meeting. Realizing that Beiste represents the reason their budgets have been slashed, Will and Sue team up to take her down.
The result is a series of childish pranks, designed under the notion that she was picked on in high school and the pranks will thus remind her of those times and cause her to break down. Examples of the pranks: Will and Sue order 25 pizzas for delivery to Beiste, and she has to pay for them. They don't let her sit at the lunch table. Sue's loving the plan, but Will, realizing that the plan is technically "working," starts to feel a conscience. Things come to a head when Sue convinces Brittany to claim Beiste grabbed her boobs inappropriately. Will decides he cannot go that far with the plan, and he persuades Brittany into telling the truth (nothing happened, although Brittany would love the chance to touch Coach Beiste's chest...funny). Sue also tries to give Beiste her homemade flax seed chocolate chip cookies (it's, from all indications, dog poop rather than chocolate), and Will again won't go along. Sue declares war on both Beiste and Will.
*Finn, Rachel, Artie, Sam, Sunshine* Finn and Rachel take it upon themselves to get the recruitment effort working. In an homage to how Will discovered Finn, Finn walks in on Sam, the new guy in school and on the football team, singing "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" in the shower. This scene is really weird--we're supposed to think Sam is good, but he actually sounds horrifically bad. Maybe an editing issue. Anyway, Finn makes it his project to get Sam on the team.
Sam does a practice audition for some of the guys ("Billionaire"), and it turns out they all like him and supporting his joining. Things end up going awry, however, when Finn gets cut from the football team (well, technically not "cut" in the sense that Beiste decided everyone was cut and had to approach the first wave of practices as tryouts; in Finn's case, she dropped him from the tryout process).
Why does Finn get cut? Artie wants to be a football player in order to win Tina back (who's with Mike and loves his abs), and he consults Finn for help. Artie explains that the force associated with pushing a guy in a wheelchair up and down a football field would essentially create a battering ram, and Artie would thus make for the best running back in football history. Finn gets on board and pitches his idea to Beiste, who thinks he's pranking her (basically trying to make her have to tell this poor handicapped kid that he can't play). She doesn't believe Finn's serious, and treats his attitude as insubordination. He's kicked out of the lockerroom.
*The Artie-Tina breakup occurred as follows: Artie was being a bad boyfriend (putting off call her to play Halo, still disrespectfully calling her "woman," etc). So, when she and Mike serve as camp counslers for "Asian camp," she's vulnerable. She sings "Getting to Know You" for the group of little Asian kids while Mike weirdly dances with his shirt unbuttoned (to show off his abs). He dances towards Tina, and the tension breaks them--they start kissing, right in front of the group of kids.
Since Finn is now a loser (he's no longer the quarterback--and gets so desperate as to try out for the Cheerios with a terrible routine set to "The Power"), Sam gets scared off about the possibility of joining the New Directions. He's already stigmatized as the new guy; the last thing he needs is the ridicule that comes with being in glee. After all, he's been tapped to replace Finn as quarterback.
Rachel, meanwhile, encounters Sunshine, a Filipino exchange student in the bathroom. Rachel condescendingly invites Sunshine to tryout for Glee (swaying in the background is fun!!!), but then gets super-jealous when she hears Sunshine start singing along with "Telephone" on her iPod. They have a dueling duet (Rachel's part is heavily auto-tuned) that gets cut off by Sue (the "shut up" scene from the commercial).
Threatened, Rachel tells Mercedes and Kurt about Sunshine's talent. Since Rachel's the star, she doesn't have to worry, but people like Kurt and Mercedes could lose solo time if Sunshine joins. They obviously don't agree with Rachel's concern, and they urge Rachel to convince Sunshine to try out. Rachel says she will, but the driving directions she gives Sunshine to get to the "audition" end up taking her to a crackhouse (where people steal Sunshine's sheet music and use it as toilet paper). Rachel's ultimately convinced to apologize to Sunshine; she invites Sunshine for a real tryout in front of the group, and the exchange student delivers a show-stopping rendition of "Listen." Everyone gets excited about the newest member of New Directions.
Unfortunately, Rachel's crackhouse prank left a sour taste in the mouth of Sunshine. And when the new Vocal Adrenaline coach comes-a-knocking with promises of a green card for Sunshine's mother, she agrees to join the rival team. It turns out that Sue, angered by Will's "betrayal," tipped Vocal Adrenaline off about this amazing talent.
Late in the episode, Finn and Rachel have a heart-to-heart about how her selfishness resulted in Vocal Adrenaline getting stronger. Both are also paranoid about the other wanting to break up (Rachel wonders if it was a summer fling, while Finn feels that she won't be interested in him now that he isn't a football palyer). They nonetheless clearly still care for each other and vow never to break up. Rachel closes the episode with a great rendition of "What I Did for Love."
*Cheerios* Quinn tries to audition. Sue is having none of it, but when Quinn makes the point that the local churches would probably be interested in giving donations to a cheerleading team that features a girl speaking about a teen mom speaking about the importance of abstinence, she catches Sue's attention.
Then, when Sue demotes Santana from head cheerleader due to her breast implants (which, nonetheless, seem to spur Sue's attraction), she calls upon Quinn to rejoin the team as captain.
Wearing her uniform, Quinn struts through the hallway as if she's finally come home. Santana confronts her, suggesting it was she who told Sue about the boob job. They start fighting, and Will breaks it up, noting that they're supposed to be a family. Santana cracks that Quinn already has a family because she's a mother, while Quinn yells "tighten up your body before you get to class."
*Other Notes* They're apparently GOING to Nationals in New York. They thus perform "Empire State of Mind" in front of the whole school to build excitement, but save for Sam and Sunshine, no one cares at all.
As always, it's really late, and I probably missed some things in this write-up. If you've heard other spoilers or have questions about something I wrote, ask, and I'll try to clarify.
Quinn-Santana fight
Wearing her uniform, Quinn struts through the hallway as if she's finally come home. Santana confronts her, suggesting it was she who told Sue about the boob job. They start fighting, and Will breaks it up, noting that they're supposed to be a family. Santana cracks that Quinn already has a family because she's a mother, while Quinn yells "walk away, and tighten up your body before you get to class."
Who won the fight? ~ No one really gets the upper hand. I suppose you can say Santana "wins" since she throws Quinn to the ground right as Will steps in, but it's not like there was a real winner and a loser nor did anyone get hurt.
And, actually, Brittany is kind of funny here. She stands and watches the fight with all the other kids in the hallway. At one point, the camera focuses on her totally expressionless face, and she deadpans, "stop the violence." (I believe so...I'm having trouble hearing it as she just pretty much mumbles the phrase)
Tina in "Getting To Know You"
She sings about two lines. Nothing major. It's from the Asian camp scene. Mike's dancing with his shirt unbuttoned (showing off the abs), and she's singing. He moves towards her, and they just start kissing--right in front of a group of kids (one of whom takes a picture on his cellphone)
Finchel kiss?
They have a minor kiss during that segment I mentioned in which they vow never to break up with the other, but it's probably not the "decent kiss" you're hoping for. Just a quick thing
Quick scene and Puck's role.
Unless there's something subtle (like a glance or something), they don't have a major scene. There frankly aren't many scenes in which the whole ND team is together. Puck has a pretty low-key role; a few lame lines here or there (references Sam's ridiculously huge mouth by asking how many tennis balls he can fit in there)
Why Tina breaks up with Artie
The "reason" she first gives is that Artie's a bad boyfriend (a fact which Artie confirms by admitting he didn't call her for a long period of time due to playing a marathon round of Halo). But it's clear that just as much of a reason is the fact that she's smitten with Mike--it was much as being into Mike as it is being mad at Artie. And my impression was that when she and Mike first hooked up at the camp, it was while she was still WITH Artie.
*Let's be nice to Tina here, people...both Finn and Quinn have commited adultery so let's not go pointing fingers*
Does Finn "say it back?"
I thought I included this in the first post, but I clearly was a bit sloppy on this post (sorry) due to writing it so late---I just really wanted to make sure I got this up the night I saw the episode. But, yeah, during their discussion about Rachel selfishly driving Sunshine away, Rachel kind of gets paranoid that she and Finn were only a temporary, summer fling and notes that she expects Finn to break up with her. Finn turns the tables, saying that because he's no longer on the football team and now a loser in school, she should probably break up with him. She replies, "I'll never break up with you" and Finn says something like "me neither." He didn't say it as definitively, but the message of his comment was clear--he was reciprocating. It would be like someone saying "i love you" and saying back "me too."
More Telephone
Just to confirm, while the Lady Gaga/Beyonce version of this song has plenty of vocal effects, the auto-tune I noticeably heard on Lea's voice (not saying Charice wasn't using it too--I just didn't hear the obvious pitch corrects on her notse) wasn't necessarily a direct carbon copy of the effects used in the song. At best, they could have been replacing other vocal effects with a generic auto-tune sound. But, in either case, since they were singing a duel in the BATHROOM, adding unnecessary auto-tune wouldn't make sense anyway.
Was Chord Any Good?
Chord Overstreet sounded fine (but really auto-tuned) on Billionaire but terrible in the shower scene singing Every Rose Has its Thorn. His acting was okay, although he is a bit of an odd fit for the show since he comes across more like a TV actor than a Broadway/musical theatre veteran.
Finn-Quinn scene
not in this episode
Quinn is back
There's not a huge "reaction" to her return to cheerleading, although she definitely walks through the hallway with confidence. She's certainly not about to get slushied.
Charice's acting
Kind of bland. Very expressionless and doesn't really do much, although that's the point. She's not an amazing actress, but it will really come down to how the character's drawn. As of right now, her only real purpose was to get on that stage and sing well, and she does that.
Brittany's role
I mentioned a few of the lines throughout this thread. She has one or two others, but nothing noteworthy on the scale of misogynists or gay sharks. Her interest in touching Beiste's boobs is pretty funny though. Nothing really interesting in terms of her relationship with Santana.
Kurt's role
Kurt and Mercedes are primarily just hanging out with each other in the background. They have that talk with Rachel and then the only other meaningful Kurt scene: Jacob tries to interview him for the vlog, and he kind of brushes him off like paparazzi and goes into the bathroom. He comes out and answers a question about critics--"say it to my face." At that point, he gets slushied in the face.
Puck/Artie making the team: I don't know if it was clear, but I believe we are to assume that Puck makes the team. The obvious implication was that Artie does not--Beiste perceived Finn's attempt to get Artie on the team (which obviously can't happen) as a prank worthy of his dismissal, so it wouldn't make sense that he would end up playing.
Finn/Rachel scene + song: It actually builds into the song. The song closes the show. I don't recall any "I love you" I'll add more when I see new info
