Glee Spoiler Alert: Cast Teases Which Couples Are Heating Up (and Cooling Off) in the New Year
Triangles will be formed and chemistry will heat up this winter on Glee— and we’re not talking about story arcs involving geometry or science. (As if the students of William McKinley High School actually attend classes in the first place!) TVLine’s intrepid reporters caught up with the cast of Fox’s high-school musical at Sunday’s Television Critics Association bash to get the scoop on what’s in store for several of the show’s power couples:
Sebastian and Blaine | While Grant Gustin’s troublemaking Warbler appeared to have his eye on Kurt’s preppy boyfriend in the first half of Season 3, the colder weather will put a chill on their sexually charged interplay. “It’s actually going less in a flirtatious direction [between Blaine and Sebastian], and more of [Sebastian] just being a d***,” says Gustin. “I’m not necessarily trying to split up [Kurt and Blaine].” In other words, don’t be in a rush to put a for-sale sign on Klaine’s chic holiday chalet.
Artie and a Mystery Lady | “Artie gets some lovin’ in the first episode back,” says Kevin McHale. “He goes after one lady — a current cast member, she’s not a series regular. That narrows it way down. Way down.” While McHale neither confirms nor denies his character will hook up with tone-deaf but increasingly amusing Sugar Motta (Vanessa Lengies), he did admit that Artie’s romantic stock is on the rise in general in 2012, thanks in part to the attention of Cheerios co-captain Becky. “She wants her some Artie,” teases McHale.
Will and Emma | News of Will proposing to Emma in next Tuesday’s episode has been widely reported, but what prompts him to get down on bended knee? “I’m trying to not give away things, but Emma basically lets Will know that she’s ready to move forward,” says Jayma Mays. That said, don’t bet your entire bank account that Miss Pillsbury will be interviewing wedding planners before the school year is out. “There could be many reasons” that Emma might turn down Will, says Mays, adding that the title of the episode, “Yes/No,” is an apt one. “We wanted it to be a bit ambiguous because they do touch on some issues they have been pondering for each other. They’re being very mature.”
Sam and Mercedes | “Right now there’s a love triangle going on,” says Chord Overstreet of his character returning to McKinley to find Mercedes paired with towering football star Shane. “I don’t know where it’s going, but I’m having fun.”
Mike and Tina | “Mike and Tina did have a little fight [during the fall],” says Harry Shum, Jr., acknowledging Mike’s fury at Tina confronting his father, “but now it’s good.” Looks like in this case, the end — Mr. Chang getting on board with Mike’s dancing dreams — justified the means.
Kurt and Blaine | Look for Kurt to sing “Ben” to Blaine in Glee‘s upcoming Michael Jackson tribute episode. “I have no idea [why it was chosen], but I know it was voted the worst song in history by some group,” says Chris Colfer. “[The song] was about a rat, but we’re singing it about Kurt’s boyfriend. I’m not sure what the connection is!” Alas, though, the chorus doesn’t find a lyric change from “Ben” to “Blaine.” “That would have been clever, though,” reasons Colfer.
Kurt and Karofsky | Colfer says he’s betting that Max Adler’s homophobic-bully-turned-gay-bar-enthusiast will return before the season is over. “I love that character,” Colfer says. “I love that he’s kind of like a good guy now.”
Brittany and Santana | While some fans have expressed dismay that Brittany and Santana have yet to seal their romance with a kiss, costar Jane Lynch says she thinks the lack of girl-girl action makes sense. “I don’t think Brittany’s in it. I don’t think Brittany’s in love with Santana,” Lynch theorizes. “I think Santana needs a girlfriend. Brittany loves her, but Brittany’s not her girlfriend.”
Sue and…Somebody? | “There’s something big coming for Sue that I can’t tease, but let’s just say for a peri-menopausal woman, it’s pretty exciting,” says Lynch.

Lauren: I love to hate Sebastian so I’m glad he’s sticking around on Glee! Will he be transferring to McKinley High?
We caught up with Grant Gustin who tells us he’s “totally open to the idea” of Sebastian transferring schools, but admits he really loves being a Warbler. “They’re so badass!” As for what year Sebastian is in school? “You find out in this Michael Jackson tribute episode,” he teases.
Love4LeaM: I’d love a spoiler just about Rachel’s storyline. Then a spoiler just about Rachel’s storyline on Glee is what you shall get! While we were starting to believe Rachel just made her dads up, it turns out we might finally meet them. “I would always say before, ‘I don’t know, I don’t think so,’ but now I think it’s a definite possibility,” Lea Michele tells us. “Ryan [Murphy] and I were brainstorming names the other day.” Michele’s favorite? “I did suggest Kanye West could maybe be one of my dads. I think he said he’s unavailable.” Make sure to post your picks to play Rachel’s dads in the comments!
uselesssuperhero: Any Wemma scoop? Other than the fact that their proposal will be wet and wild? Matthew Morrison tells us that Emma (Jayma Mays) cries after Will pops the big question, but he doesn’t shed any man tears. “I’m wet, but I don’t cry,” he teases. “I walk on water.”
Glee Preview: 15 Highlights From Next Week’s Swoon-Worthy 'Yes/No' Episode Get More: Glee, Spoilers
Michael Ausiello Valentine’s Day is still a weeks away, but Glee’s already got a honey of a gift wrapped up and waiting for you — next week’s ultraromantic episode! How sweet is the hour, which focuses not just on Will’s proposal to Emma but on (almost) all of the show’s couples? Since one of us has seen it, let me count the ways… 1. This nagging mystery is solved in first five minutes, and not in the way that I thought it would be. (And for once, I’m glad I was wrong!) 2. Sam and Mercedes recount their months-long fling with a rousing rendition of “Summer Lovin’.” 3. Michael Chiklis gets a shout-out from Sue. Ditto David Boreanaz. (The latter fares better than the former, but both are equally hilarious.) Blind Item: Which Hit Series is Whacking its Lead? 4. One couple elopes, and you’ll never guess which one. (Although, hey, you’re welcome to try. Hit the comments below… ) 5. Not only do we get to see Emma in a wedding gown, we get to see Sue and Bieste as her bridesmaids. One of their dresses is really pretty. The other two? Erm… 6. We called it! A new triangle (sorta) takes shape between Becky, Artie and Sugar! In other Becky news, she has a scene with the kinder, gentler Sue that is probably my favorite ever. 7. Finn gets some rather traumatic news about his [SPOILER] that will have serious implications on his future. For Glee Scoop and Spoilers 24/7 Follow Ausiello on Twitter via @MichaelAusiello 8. Sue checks the chip on her shoulder long enough to play guidance counselor to Artie. And — shocker — the role suits her. 9. NeNe Leaks’ cameo as Sam’s synchronized swimming coach isn’t the worst thing ever. In fact, she’s pretty funny. Upon meeting Sam for the first time, she sasses, “I’ve never seen lips like that on a while child.” 10. Artie gives Will some advice on proposing to Emma, then schools his teacher with a seamless-sounding mash-up of “Moves Like Jagger” with “Jumpin’ Jack Flash.” 11. Will chooses [spoiler] as his best man. 12. Santana, Rachel, Mercedes and Tina sing “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” and flash back to meeting their respective sweethearts, Brittany, Finn, Sam and Mike. (Britanna fans, prepare to hit the rewind button a lot.) People’s Choice Awards 2012: The Three Best and Worst Moments! 13. When Will asks Emma’s parents for permission to marry her, it goes about as well as it might have if he’d asked Sue if he could become a Cheerio. Later, he and Emma have an especially moving moment. (Jayma Mays nails it!) 14. The episode climaxes with an amazeballs synchronized swimming number, with the whole gang performing Rihanna’s “We Found Love” in McKinley’s swimming pool as part of Will’s surprise proposal. It must’ve taken forever to shoot this thing, and you know what? It was worth it. It is ridiculously over the top. Unbelievably cheesy. Crazy romantic. And you’re gonna love every second of it. (I sure did.) 15. And just when you think the episode is over, there’s an outta nowhere twist that will have [SPOILER] ‘shippers calling an emergency meeting! Got more Qs about “Yes/No”? 'Glee' scoop: Spoilers from next week's proposal episode 'Yes/No'
Glee finally returns next Tuesday with a hugely dramatic episode called “Yes/No.” The basis for the episode is Will asking New Directions to help him figure out a great song and way to propose to Emma. But then sooooo much else happens… AND THEN THERE’S THE GIGANTIC, GAME-CHANGING END MOMENTS. Get ready Gleeks. Also, get ready to cry. TURN AWAY NOW IF YOU DON’T WANT SPOILERS. Here are the highlights… The episode opens with Sam and Mercedes taking lead on “Summer Lovin’” from Grease; Santana and Kurt, naturally, both take on the catty Rizzo portions. Helen Mirren voices the internal monologue of one of the characters and it’s AH-MAZING. Emma sings “Marry Me Will” with back-up assistance from Beiste and Sue; it’s the weirdest girl group EVER. NeNe Leakes from The Real Housewives of Atlanta makes her first appearance as the swim team coach Roz Washington. Her initial introduction to Sam is laugh-out loud hilarious. There’s a gratuitous Chord Overstreet bathing suit moment. You’re welcome. Finn contemplates joining the army which brings up a secret from his past and the return of his mom and Burt Hummel. The boys of New Directions’ take on Maroon 5′s “Moves Like Jagger.” Will is in a tank top. You’re welcome. You see Emma in her wedding dress complete with bridesmaids… who are somewhat of a surprise. Becky decides that she’s going to make Artie her boyfriend. Rachel, Mercedes, Santana, and Tina perform Roberta Flack’s “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face,” and one of them reveals that she may in fact be in love with someone who’s not her current significant other. Emma’s horrible ginger-loving parents show back up. Emma gives an emotional, heart-wrenching speech to Will about their future together. Rachel sings a cover of David Guetta’s and Usher’s “Without You” to Finn. The entire cast is involved in a climactic version of Rihanna’s “We Found Love” that is both exhilarating, romantic, and emotional. Oh, and most of the cast is in bathing suits. Okay, it’s a synchronized-swimming number. And I may have cried during it. The final minutes have a HUGE, GIANT, PLOT TWIST. I can’t reveal it but, Gleeks, you will be stunned. That’s all I can say because I don’t wanna ruin it for you fans… and Fox will have me assassinated.
Glee Sneak Peek: A Surprise Wedding! Heartbreak for Finn! Exclusive Details on the Next Episode
If you are a fan of Will (Matthew Morrison) and Emma (Jayma Mays), or Finn (Cory Monteith) and Rachel (Lea Michele), the next episode is sure to put you through the emotional wringer.
I just watched this Tuesday's episode of Glee, and here's what you need to know:
This episode is probably the best ever for both Jayma (Emma) and Matt (Will). Expect a good cry!
There's a surprise wedding that officially stops a previous love triangle dead in its tracks.
I weirdly predicted where the proposal would take place when I talked to Matthew Morrison for this video interview the other night. Spooky!

Will will reconsider his feelings for Emma, whom he's not sure can handle marriage and motherhood given her OCD condition.
Cory Monteith has perhaps his most dramatic scene yet of the season, in which his mother gives him some heartbreaking news he does not take well.
Becky, Artie and Sugar have a love triangle. So that's what Kevin McHale was talking about here...
A sweet moment for Sue involving "television for ovaries" and Becky that is one of her sweetest and greatest yet.
A surprising (truly surprising!) proposal.
A great Brittana moment (it's just a glance in the locker room, but reminds us how great the Heather Morris-Naya Rivera chemistry is!).
Rachel sings Rihanna's "Without You" to Finn and it's fantastic, but not as fantastic as Santana's response.
Artie, Mike Chang and Will perform a really fun mashup of "Moves Like Jagger/Jumpin' Jack Flash that makes me stand by my mike-drop protest of Matthew Morrison not appearing in the Michael Jackson episode.
Nene Leakes is actually pretty great as the synchronized swim coach, making fun of Chord Overstreet's nipples. (Nipple humor, all the rage.) Sam is joining the synch-swim team so that'll mean a lot of wet, scantily clad scenes for Chord, to the horror of female fans everywhere.
Finn and Rachel fans, you have my word that you will not be disappointed.
So much Will and Emma goodness, you will wonder why we haven't seen more of them this season. The episode almost makes up for it. Almost.
Oh yeah, and the last five minutes? They're gonna drop a shipper bomb on you!
What are you looking forward to? Any guesses on who is the surprise wedding? Sound off below!

Glee : Valentines' Day (Unofficial Title) Spoilers Choir Room Scene:
After declining Finn’s proposal (in Michael) ,Rachel tries to make it right with heartbroken Finn. But before Rachel could apologize, Finn told her to sit down and says that it’s his fault for rushing things and added that he’s willing to wait because he loves her. Then, Finn performs ” Two More Lonely People” by Miley Cyrus .
A Brittana Hallway scene. It involves a fantasy sequence where they’ll sing “Irreplaceable” by Beyonce.
Tina will get to sing a solo ,without interruptions. Its a song Jenna that performed before but not in the show. “Make You Feel My Love” by Adele .
Sugar and Artie. Will they sing a duet? Yes they will. “Signed , Sealed,Delivered ” by Stevie Wonder .
Rory’s Valentine? Its going to be Quinn. No romantic ways ,they’re just getting to know each other.
Blaine-less Valentine? Well, there are two alternate scripts for the last 15 minutes of the episode . If Darren makes it before the taping ends, the second script (with Blaine parts) will be distributed.
Monica: Thanks for the Damian McGinty video and romance scoop! Wondering if we’ll see the other Glee Project winner, Samuel Larsen, any time soon? Damian says as far as he knows, Samuel is still set to appear this season. “There are only seven episode left [to shoot], so it has to be soon!” In the meantime, check the Glee music section of West Hollywood’s Target store, where (true story) I spotted Samuel singing Glee tunes to “himself” right before Christmas. Ryan Murphy, let’s get him on the show, eh? Kid needs a new hobby. Oh and BTW, Damian also said they are still shooting that Michael Jackson episode. It’s been more than a month!
virgo119: I will rage against the Glee writers if they try that crap with [Rory] coming between Brittana. We haven’t even gotten a kiss. Simmer down now, sassy pants! Watch the Damian McGinty interview! It’s very clear he’s not talking about Brittany or Santana and specifically says of Rory’s past feelings for Brittany: “Brittany is with Santana and so she is kind of off the market.” This is why you must watch the video, friend! And I hear ya on the kiss.
Gail: Thanks for the scoop on the next episode of Glee, but can I squeeze a bit more scoop from you about Finchel? What happens in tomorrow’s episode with Finn (Cory Monteith) and Rachel (Lea Michele) is not a bad thing, so forget any rumors about a breakup that you hear on the magic computer box (Internet). We’d tell you more, but the episode is so chock full of twists that we wouldn’t dare spoil a thing for you. В бесконечности мира, в продолжении жизни ∞
Question: Do we know yet how Finn will figure into Glee next season? —Robin Ausiello: No, but Cory Monteith sure sounds pumped about it. “I’m really excited,” he tells TVLine. “I think that the idea they came up with, Ryan Murphy specifically, to incorporate the people who are graduating and still keep the paradigm of the McKinley High School active is great. It’s still very much the show that people know and love, but incorporates people who aren’t at the school anymore. I think it’s going to be very interesting to see how it all develops and I’m really excited about it.”
Glee please! — Marty NATALIE: Following his failed friendship-turned-accidental romance with Becky, Artie will set his sights on a new girl: Sugar Motta. Before you scoff at the idea of him having feelings for a tone-deaf, entitled ditz, get this: He's not the only one with a Sugar craving. "He may have to battle for her with someone else," Kevin McHale tells us. Any guesses? В бесконечности мира, в продолжении жизни ∞
